What is a full motion TV wall mount?

Full motion TV wall mounts offer the most flexibility for...

If you’re chasing the latest LED flat-screen or curved OLED TV, then you’ll need to consider how it’ll fit in your living space and what TV wall mount options are available to you.

A full motion TV wall mount is the most versatile option for your new TV. It has the most features a wall bracket can offer with adjustable arms, a base plate and two adjustable TV mounting arms. They are a solid design that allows you to move the TV to best suit your viewing angle. It provides a robust mounting base and is an excellent solution for hanging your HDTV on the wall.

Full motion TV mounts provide a way to extend the TV from the wall and pan the TV from left to right to give you a better viewing angle if you’re sitting or standing, not directly in front of the TV, making it perfect for viewing from the kitchen in open-plan homes.

It also offers a tilt movement for the TV, tilting down and up to reduce glare from sunlight. This movement can optimise the viewing angle for the TV and give a better experience. Full motion TV brackets provide the option of swivel or pan movement and can be mounted into a corner of a small room if required.

As the TV can be extended from the wall using this type of mount, you will be able to do all your wiring after hanging your TV. Consider the space behind the TV to the wall. When your TV is against the wall, it may have cable or power connections that stick into the wall or to the side, and you may need to purchase alternative cables to suit your new mount.

Power leads, HDMI and coaxial cables are available with a right angle connection. Alternatively, you could use a right angle adaptor for the cables. Just make sure that the adaptor and cable are suitable for the bandwidth required.

Ensure you also check the wall type you have before putting holes in your wall. Timber frame and masonry are your most common, and our TV mounts provide screws and plugs to suit these. However, you will need to discuss the best mounting solution with your local hardware store if you have a steel frame home.
